Pimobendan (Vetmedin®) is FDA Approved

This medication is now FDA approved and available through normal veterinary distribution channels. Wedgewood Pharmacy will no longer routinely compound this drug after September 6, 2007. The FDA-approved product is available in flavored, chewable tablets in the most common strengths, 1.25mg and 5mg. Wedgewood will compound Pimobendan when a veterinarian prescribes a custom strength or dosage form or if a patient is sensitive or allergic to a non-active component in the manufactured product.
